Canon’s PowerShot SX models – SX280 HS and PowerShot SX270 HS are the compact and versatile PowerShot cameras that combine Canon’s brand new DIGIC 6 image processing technology with a 20x optical zoom which makes these models the perfect travel companions. This includes recording everything from panoramic landscapes to family holidays, in stunning detail and Full HD 60p video. Canon’s next generation DIGIC 6 image processor is the key feature, the heart of both the models. What this really means is that now you can capture the most stunning and outstanding images even in the lowest of light conditions. Not even this, you can now shoot realistically smooth, Full HD movies at up to 60fps with these PowerShot cameras. Whether at a party or under moonlight, new DIGIC 6 ensures pictures are low on noise and perfectly-exposed, with up to 30 per cent more detail captured than the models’ predecessors, without the need to use a flash or tripod.

Movies are recorded in the widely-compatible MP4 format using DIGIC 6 and can be played on a range of portable devices – providing the ability to share recordings quickly and easily with family and friends, without the need for lengthy file conversions. This sounds too cool, isn’t it?

The HS System pairs the new DIGIC 6 processor with a 12.1 Megapixel high-sensitivity CMOS sensor to deliver exceptional images in low light, wide dynamic range, as well as with minimal blur and noise– perfect for capturing shadowy detail as the sun sets on holiday. Using the DIGIC 6 processor and HS System, users can enjoy shooting with incredible ISO sensitivity, up to ISO 6400, with outstanding results.

The PowerShot SX280 HS and PowerShot SX270 HS provides 25mm wide-angle 20x optical zoom Canon lens with a 4-stop optical Image Stabilizer (IS) which is ideal for every precious family and holiday moment that you essentially want not to forget lifelong. ZoomPlus technology even digitally extends the reach of the zoom to 40x whilst maintaining crisp, high-quality resolution, detailed, allowing users to get even closer to the action whilst maintaining a discrete distance. It’s the time for you to get closer to action with this super zoom; totally amazing!

The PowerShot SX280 HS and PowerShot SX270 HS offers Smart Auto mode which detects upto 58 different scenes to determine the most appropriate settings to achieve the best possible result. This feature makes it easy for you to point and shoot with confidence.
Combining creative flexibility with high quality images, both the PowerShot SX280 HS and PowerShot SX270 HS feature new Hybrid Auto mode which records the four seconds before every shot in 720p resolution, before using Smart Auto to determine the best settings to capture the perfect shot. At the end of each day, the four-second clips are merged into one to tell the “behind-the-scenes” story of the day’s images! Doesn’t it sound exciting?

Stills can also be transformed by using one of seven different Creative Filters, including Fish-eye Effect and Miniature Effect. More ambitious and experienced photographers, or those wanting to develop their photography skills, can also take complete control of their camera settings. Using the range of more advanced modes, including Tv and Av modes to control shutter speed and aperture, or full manual mode to control all settings, users can explore their creativity and improve their knowledge with these powerful, compact cameras.

Another attraction grabbing feature of the cameras is that you can quickly switch from still images to movies to record action in Full HD quality (1920x1080p) with stereo sound. Advanced 60p recording allows a new level of movie performance, with the ability to capture fast paced action with improved smoothness across the whole scene. DIGIC 6 offers enhanced noise processing in Full HD movies (30fps) while Fine Detail Movie Processing technology (30 fps) offers incredible detail, allowing users to capture every moment incredibly. The huge 20x optical zoom can also be used whilst filming. Movies shot on the move are kept crisp and blur-free. This is absolutely due to the latest version of Intelligent IS, which features an enhanced Dynamic IS mode. The improved mode employs a five-axis Image Stabilizer, correcting a range of additional types of camera shake, including rotational and parallel shake – a typical occurrence when filming whilst walking, for even smoother footage.

Whether on a family holiday or the trip of a lifetime, travelers can easily frame and review their recordings on the bright 7.5 cm (3.0”) PureColor II G LCD screen with approximately 461,000 dots. A tempered glass layer provides additional strength and protection, and high contrast also combines with Quick Bright technology to make the display perfect for movie playback in bright sunlight.

The PowerShot SX280 HS’s Wi-Fi function allows you to share their most memorable moments with friends and family by transmitting their stunning images to social networks, connected devices, or the internet for online back-up.

Camera Showcase: Canon EOS 6D Reviews, Specifications, Price

Canon’s EOS 6D DSLR is the world’s smallest and lightest full frame DSLR which certainly grabs a great attention of serious photography enthusiasts. It is very similar in size and weight to the EOS 60D (in fact 3.3 oz or 95 grams less than 60D), that features a full-frame CMOS sensor, making it absolutely ideal in any condition, be it for travel or be it portrait or may be landscape photography. EOS 6D is also said to be similar to the previous 5D MARK III in terms of specification. So, if you are a photo enthusiast searching for a full-frame DSLR for ultimate technical quality and super-fast autofocus for action, but don’t want to pay extra for 5D Mark III or carry extra weight (about 26.8 oz or 760 grams) of the 5D Mark III, with the EOS 6D you will grab the best choice. The model creates a solid place in Canon’s full-frame line-up, and is perfect for those who want greater control over depth of field, or to maximize the impact of shooting with the EOS system’s extensive range of wide-angle EF lenses.

The EOS 6D combines a powerful, full-frame imaging system and superior low-light performance with a compact, robust and lightweight design. For the first time in any EOS model, features like Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity are included, empowering photographers to capture stunning images, tag them with location information and wirelessly transfer them to a computer, the cloud, or smartphones. While slimmer front-to-back, and lighter than the Nikon D600, the 6D primarily seeks to distinguish itself on the spec sheet with built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, a ‘silent’ shutter mechanism and, according to Canon, unprecedented low-light focusing sensitivity.

Canon’s EOS 6D features a newly-designed 20.2 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor (slightly lower resolution than the 22.3 Megapixel EOS 5D Mark III) that allows photographers to produce poster-sized prints, or to crop into their shots with no compromise in quality. A native ISO range of ISO 100-25,600 (extendable to 50-102,400) also makes capturing crisp, natural shots in near darkness easier than ever before!

A new 11-point AF system also offers the strongest low light performance of any Canon AF system to date. With focusing down to EV-3, the equivalent of moonlight, subjects remain in-focus in even the most challenging lighting conditions – offering the freedom to shoot landscapes or portraits at night and capture the true atmosphere of the scene with minimal noise.

The EOS 6D have features that would must be enhancing your creativity; explore your creativity to the full! With the EOS 6D, photographers can now also explore the full potential of their wide-angle EF lenses to capture every detail of a sweeping landscape, with models ranging from 8mm to 800mm. The inclusion of a full-frame sensor offers greater control over depth of field in portraits, allowing photographers to easily isolate their subjects with attractive background blur. Additionally powerful DIGIC 5+ image processing offers a host of automatic modes and creative shooting features, complementing full manual controls to offer total flexibility to a wide range of users.

Canon EOS 6D | PixelBing

The EOS 6D is full of advanced features to assist photographers in capturing outstanding quality landscapes and portraits. HDR mode enables the capture of both highlights and low lights in tricky lighting conditions, while Multiple Exposures allows photographers to combine up to nine separate exposures into a single image in-camera, creating a dramatic effect in the final picture. A silent drive mode offers a more subtle option for shooting candid portraits or weddings, and a single axis electronic level accessed through the viewfinder or via the LCD screen, ensures that horizons are level during image composition.

EOS 6D is the most compact full-frame EOS DSLR ever manufactured, measuring just 144.5 x 110.5 x 71.2mm and weighing 770g. Its dust and drip-proof, part-magnesium body offers robust protection and an intuitive button layout for easy control. You can also view the shots in stunning detail and with natural colors on the large, high-resolution 7.7cm (3.0”) Clear View LCD screen, which features an enhanced anti-glare design to permit viewing in bright sunlight and at extreme angles.

Canon EOS 6D | PixelBing

A new compatible Battery Grip BG-E13 provides additional power for extended shooting, while also making it easy to shoot both vertically and horizontally. When used with two LP-E6 batteries, the battery grip offers double the number of shots, and it can also be used with AA batteries for added convenience and flexibility.

With the first ever EOS to feature integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, EOS 6D now enables you to share your work immediately after shooting. By wirelessly connecting to a smartphone, photographers can also remotely control the camera, adjusting shooting settings and focus before remotely triggering the shutter and viewing the captured image.
Images can be wirelessly transferred to external storage devices, uploaded to Facebook and YouTube, or printed wirelessly using a Canon Wi-Fi enabled printer. Alternatively, movies and images can be viewed on DLNA-enabled HDTVs – enabling high-quality, big-screen viewing.
Using the EOS 6D’s integrated GPS, images can be tagged with location data as they are shot. Travelers can also build a more complete record of their trip by using the GPS logger function to track their route, which can be displayed using the supplied Map Utility software.

Canon EOS 6D | PixelBing

In nutshell, when I personally evaluate the goods and bads in this fun-to-use camera, I find a lot to share with you guys. There’s no built-in flash in this camera. But a lot of users won’t be having an issue anyway, particularly not if you use studio lighting in a controlled environment, or you’re happy to buy an external Speedlite for the hotshoe. Also, it provides limited autofocus points which is a bit disappointing. If I ignore these two points, which actually can be ignored, 6D delivers an excellent performance overall due to very high image quality, a powerful full frame sensor and much more new advanced features. The facilities of the built-in-wifi and built-in-GPS also add to the efficiency of the camera. All these attractive features combined with an affordable price; quite less than it actually deserves, make the EOS 6D a solid hit in the photography world.

But again, there’s something that pulls me towards the con side of this camera and Canon’s smart trick behind the idea, i-e no availability of a built-in flash. Canon is publicizing the camera as lightest outdoor full frame adventure, by saving some weight for the internal speedlight unit, but for night outdoor photography, you again would have to add on a little weight on the hotshoe. Eventually, we are there from where we began.

Price and Availability:

The camera is available worldwide, with a price tag of $1,999 (Body Only) in the US markets. In the Indian subcontinent, it is available at INR 1,24,995 for the body only variant and INR 1,66,995 for the 6D kit supplied with the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens.

However, I personally don’t feel that a DSLR at this level being purchased with a kit lens is a wise idea because the pro DSLR owners might already be having a handsome lens inventory of their own by the time of purchasing this shooting ‘Canon’

This newly-developed Dual Pixel CMOS AF, a phase-detection autofocus (AF) technology on the camera’s image sensor plane, enables users to shoot video with the new EOS 70D close to the quality of a video shot with a camcorder. Dual Pixel CMOS AF employs a revolutionary CMOS sensor on which all of the effective pixels are able to perform both still imaging and phase-detection AF simultaneously to achieve dramatically improved AF performance over other EOS cameras during Live View shooting and when shooting video.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF realizes advantages like exceptional tracking performance, shorter focusing times, and smoother auto-focusing during video shooting especially when compared with Canon’s conventional Live View AF systems. Now users can concentrate more attention on the subject and composing the photo when shooting because Live View shooting can be used in a manner similar to using the camera’s viewfinder, as simple as that! Dual Pixel CMOS AF also supports 103 models of EF lenses (including many earlier models), enhancing a photographer’s creative options as well as maximizing the benefit of Dual Pixel CMOS AF in a variety of situations.

The canon EOS 70D delivers superb still performance. It features a new 20.2 megapixel APS-C Canon CMOS sensor, Canon’s superb DIGIC 5+ Image Processor, as well as an extensive ISO range of 100-12800 (expandable to 25,600). With such great specifications, the EOS 70D Digital SLR camera is capable of producing sharp, detailed images, even in low-light conditions.

EOS 70D allows photographers to easily capture accurately even the fast moving subjects with features like high-speed continuous shooting of up to 7.0 frames per second (fps)  and 19-point all cross-type AF system (including a high-precision f/2.8 dual cross-type AF center point). In addition, the camera’s Scene Intelligent Auto Mode delivers optimized photos and offers outstanding scene detection for amazing results even when shooting in low light.

The EOS 70D also incorporates a 63-zone Dual Layer IFCL (Intelligent Focus, Color & Luminance) AE metering system which enhances accurate exposures by minimizing random metering errors caused by varying subject colors and light sources. Other useful features include a built-in Electronic Level Function, Manual WB settings and AF Micro-adjustment.

The camera comes up with an extremely enhanced EOS Full HD Movie Mode for Professional Quality Video. With the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system and Movie Servo AF, the camera provides continuous phase-detection AF during video recording for quick and accurate focus tracking of moving object. Motor noise from the lens is significantly reduced in the camera so it will only capture the stereo sound of the scene being recorded. For added flexibility, the EOS 70D Digital SLR camera also features a built-in stereo microphone with manual audio level adjustment and an attenuator function to reduce audio clipping, an accessory jack for external stereo microphones and Video Snapshot mode with editing for expanded video shooting options. When users select the EOS Movie Mode, the EOS 70D offers the ability to shoot in 1080p Full HD video up to 30 fps.

With an innovative range of in-camera imaging features such as High Dynamic Range, Handheld Night Scene, Multiple Exposure and HDR Backlight Control modes allow for expanded creativity. This way, the EOS 70D Digital SLR camera provides advanced amateur photographers and photo hobbyists looking to hone their creative and technical skills, a solid ground to enhance their creativity. The new camera is also equipped with built-in Image Resizing functions and RAW Image Processing.

Seven Creative Filters can be applied in Live View such as Art Bold, Fish-eye, Water-painting, Grainy Black and White, Soft Focus, Toy Camera and Miniature. Also, the users can preview the effect of the filter on the three-inch Vari-Angle Touch Screen monitor without having to shoot the image first.

All of these features, when combined with a high-resolution Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor II with intuitive touch controls featuring multi-touch operation and Touch AF, make it the ideal camera choice for photographers looking for the best in imaging technology.

Canon Powershot N: Canon’s latest launch at the CES 2013

The design is really unique what sets it apart from others. The camera has lost a lot of buttons and is on the verge of turning into a square cuboid shape rather than a regular conventional rectangular one. It houses an 8x optical zoom and a 28mm wide-angle lens, packaged with a 12.1- megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor and DIGIC 5 Image Processor. This camera is also capable of capturing videos in 1080p Full HD resolution, and has the WiFi feature for easy sharing of photographs online. This camera is little low on ISO capacities, ISO 80-6400.

The camera has trimmed out a lot of buttons, and has not even a single button on the rear, everyting is controlled by the flip-out LCD touchscreen which can flip out to even 90 degree. There are dials at the front. Taking pictures on this camera needs a little expertise with this model. It’s little different, what I felt was strange rotating the dial for zooming in and out, and pushing the lens down for getting a click.

Talking about technologies, Canon came up with a new mode, called Creative Shot that intuitively analyses an image and automatically creates a series of five artistic photos of the original with varying composition, lighting and colour for an array of options and to help users in getting the best shot every time. The Canon PowerShot N has a built-in Hybrid Auto and Face ID systems, which enables the camera to automatically recognise and focus on familiar faces. It is expected to hit the market by April 2013 for a price of around $299, and will be available in two colour options, white and black.
