First in the series is a new and entirely different design, the PowerShot N does steal a glance at its very first look. The camera has lost a lot of buttons and is on the verge of turning into a square cuboid shape rather than a regular conventional rectangular one. We have discussed more on it in a separate post, so you can anytime scroll there for your interest. It is expected to hit the market by April 2013 for a price of  around $299, and will be available in two colour options, white and black.

Canon Powershot N: Canon’s latest launch at the CES 2013

The design is really unique what sets it apart from others. The camera has lost a lot of buttons and is on the verge of turning into a square cuboid shape rather than a regular conventional rectangular one. It houses an 8x optical zoom and a 28mm wide-angle lens, packaged with a 12.1- megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor and DIGIC 5 Image Processor. This camera is also capable of capturing videos in 1080p Full HD resolution, and has the WiFi feature for easy sharing of photographs online. This camera is little low on ISO capacities, ISO 80-6400.

The camera has trimmed out a lot of buttons, and has not even a single button on the rear, everyting is controlled by the flip-out LCD touchscreen which can flip out to even 90 degree. There are dials at the front. Taking pictures on this camera needs a little expertise with this model. It’s little different, what I felt was strange rotating the dial for zooming in and out, and pushing the lens down for getting a click.

Talking about technologies, Canon came up with a new mode, called Creative Shot that intuitively analyses an image and automatically creates a series of five artistic photos of the original with varying composition, lighting and colour for an array of options and to help users in getting the best shot every time. The Canon PowerShot N has a built-in Hybrid Auto and Face ID systems, which enables the camera to automatically recognise and focus on familiar faces. It is expected to hit the market by April 2013 for a price of around $299, and will be available in two colour options, white and black.
